The Labour Court found William Jones’s working-time complaint against Coolmore Stud was brought outside the time limit and that it had no jurisdiction to investigate it. The Court dated its determination 24 April 2018; the merits were not decided. Jones worked for Coolmore Stud from January 2006 until retiring in January 2015. He referred his complaint to the WRC in March 2016, alleging breaches during his employment. The company argued that the claim was outside the statutory time limit. The Court found the six-month deadline had expired by 15 July 2015 and that no extension could bring the claim within time.
