Labour Court sets aside €500 award to Niall Homan in working-time appeal

The Labour Court set aside a €500 award to Niall Homan after his appeal against Unique Diary Productions Ltd failed. The determination was dated 9 July 2018. Homan had alleged excessive weekly hours, inadequate rest breaks and a failure to keep working-time records. The Court confined the appeal to 12 November 2016 to 1 January 2017 and refused his application to extend the time limit. His representative conceded there had been no breach of the working-time provisions during that period and accepted that the Court had no express jurisdiction over the records complaint; the merits were not decided.
