Labour Court affirms finding Patrick Doolin’s working-time complaint was out of time

The Labour Court affirmed the finding that Patrick Doolin’s working-time complaint against Stobart (Ireland) Driver Services Ltd was presented outside the time limits and was statute-barred; the merits were not decided. The determination was signed on 29 March 2017. The Court found that Doolin’s complaint was not validly made until 6 February 2016, when it identified the specific provision allegedly breached on 19 June 2014. His union representative said it had been submitted earlier and sought an extension, but the Court did not need to decide that request.
