On Svitlana Demenko’s appeal, the Labour Court left a €250 award for a late statement of employment terms in place. Its determination was signed on 22 February 2016. The Court dismissed her appeal over wages and annual-leave and public-holiday entitlements, and recorded that she had withdrawn a separate appeal about notice of daily start and finish times. Demenko, a part-time barber at Dilion & Co Limited’s salon, argued that her contract ran to 31 December 2014 and that she was owed pay and entitlements through that date. The Court said the terms statement’s other alleged defects were technical and insubstantial, and that she had suffered no actual loss or detriment. Her wages claim failed after the Court noted she had received two weeks’ written notice; it also dismissed the holiday claim, which depended on the failed wages appeal.
