The Labour Court upheld an €8,000 compensation award to Eddie Murphy after dismissing Erac Ireland Limited’s appeal. Its determination was signed on 22 September 2015. The appeal concerned Murphy’s complaint that ERAC breached the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 by requiring him to work more than 48 hours a week. The Court found his hours were set by the company and that it had not kept the required records. It upheld the finding on his section 15 complaint; his other complaints under sections 12, 13, 14 and 19 were not part of ERAC’s appeal.
