The Labour Court reduced an €8,000 award to €7,500 after rejecting Leo Corrigan’s appeal over Seamus Mulligan’s unpaid annual leave and public holiday entitlements. The determination was dated 24 June 2015. Mulligan, a driver for Corrigan’s business, Leo Corrigan T/A LC Plant Hire, said he had not been paid for annual leave or public holidays. Corrigan said Mulligan had been paid in full and was not entitled to the payments. The Court accepted Mulligan’s evidence and found Corrigan’s evidence and documents unreliable. It also accepted that repeated promises to pay the outstanding balance were reasonable grounds to extend the time limit. The Court deducted €500 that Mulligan had already received, reducing the original award to €7,500.
