The Labour Court directed Ruskim Seafoods Ltd to pay delivery driver Sarunas Juodris €200 after finding it had paid him for two days of annual leave while he was on certified sick leave. The determination was signed on 23 October 2015. The Court dismissed Juodris’s claims about daily rest and workplace breaks because the road-transport regulations, rather than overlapping provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997, applied to mobile workers. His claim about notice of finishing times also failed: roster sheets showed estimated finish times, and uncontested evidence indicated that he sometimes finished earlier. The decision followed appeals by Juodris and Ruskim Seafoods.
