The Labour Court upheld a €352.80 public-holiday compensation award to Carl Hennessy in a determination signed on 19 August 2014. John Crowe, trading as Timothy Croughs, had appealed the Rights Commissioner’s decision. Hennessy had complained that he did not receive the correct public-holiday entitlements. The Rights Commissioner found the complaint well founded in part and awarded compensation. The Labour Court proceeded with Crowe’s appeal after he did not attend the hearing; no evidence was presented in support of it.
