The Labour Court upheld a €3,000 award to Mr Rimantas Kazdailis after disallowing his appeal against Ballinalard Transport Ltd. The determination was signed on 21 June 2013. Mr Rimantas Kazdailis had appealed the Rights Commissioner's findings on daily rest and meal breaks, as well as the amount of compensation. Ballinalard Transport Ltd denied a breach of the daily-rest rule. He said he normally had 11 hours between workdays and a 45-minute meal break within six hours of starting work. The Court found no breach of either working-time provision and saw no grounds to increase the award for the other breaches. It upheld the Rights Commissioner's decision and disallowed Mr Rimantas Kazdailis's appeal.
