The Labour Court set aside a €4,000 award to Eithne Doherty after allowing Christy Conlon t/a City Taxis’ appeal. The Rights Commissioner had upheld Doherty’s complaint that she was not paid public-holiday entitlements.
The Court found that the same public-holiday issue had been dealt with in an earlier Payment of Wages Act case between the same parties, and could not be reopened. The separate €194.76 net award in that earlier case was not appealed. The determination was signed on 6 June 2013.
