The Labour Court increased Paolo Regazzi’s compensation to €3,000 after upholding his working-time and public-holiday complaints on Christopher & Margaret Dowler T/A Dowler’s Steakhouse & Wine Bar’s appeal. The determination was dated 29 October 2013. The Court found that Regazzi’s working week consistently exceeded 48 hours, breaching section 15 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. It also upheld his public-holiday complaint under section 21, finding that the employer had not provided evidence that compensatory rest days were given. The Court ordered €2,500 for the working-time breach and €500 for the public-holiday complaint.
