The Labour Court upheld a €3,500 award to Fiona Monné after dismissing Okinara Ltd’s appeal for lack of prosecution. The company did not attend the hearing. The determination was dated 21 March 2012.

The Rights Commissioner had found Monné’s complaint well founded, awarding compensation for alleged breaches of working-time rights covering rest breaks, annual leave and public holidays. The company’s representative told the Court it was no longer trading, a claim Monné disputed. The Labour Court left the Rights Commissioner’s decision in place.
