The Labour Court reduced the €6,000 award against Tithe Saoire Chleire Teo to €4,000 on the employer’s appeal over John Harrington’s unpaid annual leave. The determination was dated 30 May 2011. The Court found he was owed four weeks’ paid leave for the year ending 31 March 2009 and almost seven days up to the end of his employment on 2 August 2009. Harrington’s two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off roster did not show that he had received paid annual leave. The Court varied the Rights Commissioner’s decision and ordered the employer to pay €4,000, including an element of compensation.
