The Labour Court overturned a Rights Commissioner's €800 award to Aliaksei Huryn after finding it had no jurisdiction to hear his Sunday premium complaint. The Court's determination was dated 26 September 2011. Huryn said he worked about eight hours every Sunday as a waiter at Waterford Manor Hotel without receiving a premium. The hotel said it had paid him all monies due and provided accommodation and meals. Both parties appealed: Huryn challenged the amount of the award, and the hotel appealed the decision. The Court said the complaint was referred on 11 October 2010, outside the six-month time limit, and that Huryn had not sought an extension. The merits were not decided.
