The Labour Court reduced a Rights Commissioner’s €6,160 award to €3,000 after Wastewise Limited appealed a decision concerning Jennifer Hickey’s unpaid annual leave and public holidays. The Court directed the company to pay the remaining €984 after crediting €2,016 already paid. Hickey had accrued 10 days of annual leave and five public holidays. The Court found she was entitled to pursue the claim after the agreed payment deadline passed, and considered the original compensation excessive. Its determination was dated 13 August 2008.
