In 2004, the Labour Court varied a €1,290 Rights Commissioner award to chef Enda Delaney, setting compensation at €500 on the employer’s appeal. The determination was signed on 22 December 2004. The Court found four days of annual leave remained outstanding and said workers must receive their normal weekly rate specifically for leave. Delaney sought payment for ten days of 2001 holidays, saying staffing shortages had prevented him from taking them. The employer disputed the number of days and said additional payments had covered untaken leave. The Court rejected that position and varied the earlier decision. A later determination, dated 25 July 2005, changed the employer’s name to The Stand House Hotel Limited.
