The Labour Court upheld a €927.50 award to Amir Domingo after dismissing an appeal by Compleat Employment Agency. The award covered €700 in outstanding wages, €100 for a missing payslip, €51 for working on St Patrick’s Day and €76.50 in holiday pay. Domingo said he had not been paid regularly or at the contracted rate, had received no payslip and was owed holiday pay. The agency disputed that he had an employment contract and alleged he had failed to do his duties. The agency did not attend the appeal hearing, although it sent a representative who could not explain its written grounds. The Court found no basis to conclude that the Rights Commissioner had erred and was satisfied that Domingo worked on the public holiday for which he was compensated. The determination was dated 8 April 2003.
