The Labour Court increased a holiday pay award to £1,160 for a worker at Michael Healy Plant Hire, including the £440 already awarded by a Rights Commissioner. The Court dated its determination 25 January 2001. The worker appealed after the Rights Commissioner did not decide his claim for leave in the 1998–99 leave year. The Court accepted reasonable cause to extend the time limit to 18 months and allowed the appeal. It found he was owed pay for 29 days of annual leave across the two leave years. The employer did not attend either hearing.
