The Labour Court set pay and workplace terms for Bayfield Supplies Ltd employees in a determination signed on 9 January 2007, following an unresolved dispute with Mandate Trade Union. The Court found that information the company relied on had already been considered and made a determination in the same terms as its earlier recommendation. The terms included an incremental hourly pay scale from €8 in the first year to €10.10 in the seventh, with a 7.5% chargehand premium. Sunday and public holiday work attracted time-and-a-half. The determination also provided for four weeks of annual sick leave at full pay less social welfare, a Christmas bonus of one week’s gross pay, payslips and statutory health and safety compliance. The terms were to be implemented within one month of issue unless otherwise stated.
