The Labour Court upheld the Equality Officer’s recommendation and disallowed the appeal by Denise Cotter and Sandra Poland over their pay claim against Printech International Limited. The determination was signed on 25 January 2000. The workers, represented by the Graphical, Paper and Media Union, sought the same basic rate as a male comparator for like work. The Court accepted that his existing pay had been protected after a transfer prompted by personal circumstances, and found that this justified the pay difference on grounds other than sex.
