The Labour Court rejected a teacher’s appeal against a finding that County Donegal Vocational Educational Committee had not discriminated against her in an acting vice-principal appointment. The decision was dated 7 July 1997. The teacher, who worked at Letterkenny Vocational School, argued that she was better qualified than the successful male candidate. The Court found that the interview process was fair and its criteria free of sexual bias. It also found that the successful candidate was better qualified and had more relevant interests and experience.
