A patient’s gender discrimination and harassment complaints against a hospital were not upheld after a consultant and registrar referred to her using the wrong gender during a consultation. Equality Officer Hugh Lonsdale’s decision was dated 24 November 2014.
The officer found that the hospital had rebutted the inference of gender discrimination. He also found the consultation did not amount to a hostile, degrading or offensive environment, and that the patient had not established harassment.
