The WRC found that an post provided more than adequate reasonable accommodation to an employee who said agoraphobia prevented her attending a disciplinary hearing at its Galway regional office. Adjudication Officer Ray Flaherty dated the decision 26 January 2018.
An post had moved the hearing from its usual Dublin venue to Galway, about a mile from the employee’s workplace. The adjudicator found that was reasonable and that an post acted reasonably in seeking medical advice about her further accommodation request. An post later held the hearing at her workplace despite confidentiality concerns and medical advice that the Galway venue was suitable. The complaint was not upheld.
