Riadh Haddad’s race discrimination complaint against Velocity Markets Ltd was not well founded, an Equality Officer/Adjudicator found in a decision dated 15 June 2017.

Haddad said he was assigned to night work serving the Arabic market, denied training and promotion, and treated unfairly after a colleague complained about him. The company disputed discrimination and referred to training and performance records.

The adjudicator found no facts supporting an inference of race discrimination in Haddad’s night assignment, training or the handling of the colleague’s complaint. Haddad had not identified a promotion he applied for and was passed over for. The adjudicator noted that access to promotion lacked transparency but found that it had not been shown to be discriminatory.
