The Equality Officer found against Mr Edidijus Kavalauskas on his race discrimination complaint after he failed to attend the hearing. Kavalauskas alleged that Directional Drilling (NI) Ltd discriminated against him in training, conditions of employment and other matters. The company also did not attend; its representative told the Tribunal it had been wound up in 2011. Kavalauskas had been notified of the hearing, and the Equality Officer found his failure to attend unreasonable. The investigation ended without evidence supporting the allegation.
