Equality Tribunal rejects three race discrimination complaints against building services employer

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Workplace decision ·

The Equality Tribunal rejected a worker’s complaints of race discrimination in his working conditions and training, dismissal and harassment by Gerry Rafferty t/a C.S.P. Buildings Services. Equality Officer James Kelly dated the decision 19 April 2010. The officer found no evidence that Armands Jairgensons was treated less favourably than an Irish person in similar circumstances or that his working conditions were linked to race. He found the dismissal followed a work dispute and that there was no evidence race influenced it. The harassment complaint also failed for lack of evidence.
