The Labour Court decided that Roscommon Seamless Gutters Ltd was covered by the Construction Industry Registered Employment Agreement, and said the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s pay claim on behalf of a worker should be dealt with under it. The decision was signed on 26 June 2007. The union said the general operative was paid €8.40 an hour for an average 50-hour week, and sought agreement rates, overtime and back pay to 2004, claiming €34,470 was due. The company argued that the agreement did not cover its business. The Court decided the coverage issue but did not set a payment amount.
