The Labour Court rejected Mantas Alisauskas’s appeal over pay and working conditions during his placement with United Drug Limited, leaving the Rights Commissioner’s rejection of his complaint in place. The Court dated its determination 21 January 2015. Alisauskas worked for Noel Recruitment Ltd, which placed him with United Drug. He said he earned €9.15 an hour while directly employed workers doing similar work received between €11.65 and €12. He also claimed he missed an equipment premium, bonuses and higher overtime rates. Noel Recruitment said the redacted payslips did not identify comparable workers and that United Drug had advised it that directly employed workers doing similar work had the same conditions. The Court found the slips offered little help in determining whether they related to comparable workers. It concluded that Alisauskas had not provided reliable or admissible evidence to support his claims, so they could not succeed.
