The Workplace Relations Commission directed Mooney Milk Distribution Ltd to pay Declan Kane €27,216 in statutory redundancy, after finding his complaint well-founded. The decision was dated 8 August 2025.

Kane worked for the company from 3 January 2003 until 2 March 2024. He said he was told his job would end by redundancy and received no response to attempts to contact the company about the payment. The company did not attend the hearing or provide evidence or a written response.

WRC Adjudication Officer Patricia Owens accepted that Kane’s employment ended by redundancy and found the complaint well-founded. The commission ordered payment within six weeks; if the company confirmed it could not pay, it was to cooperate with paperwork for a claim through the Redundancy Payment Scheme.
