The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Isaac Hayes €100 after finding that Ralerno Hotels Ltd treated his statutory sick leave as other leave, contrary to the Sick Leave Act 2022. Adjudication Officer Louise Boyle’s decision was dated 20 August 2025. Hayes said the hotel used accrued public holidays to cover his absence without his consent. The hotel said an error delayed sick pay processing and that he was not financially disadvantaged. The officer found the treatment breached the Act, although Hayes had not suffered financial loss.
