The Workplace Relations Commission found that Bellew Food Company Limited Finnegan's Farm discriminated against Caroline Silva by dismissing her because of her disability, and ordered it to pay her €7,800 compensation. The decision was dated 11 August 2025.
Silva said the company knew of her disability and dismissed her after an illness-related absence. The company did not attend the hearing, and the adjudication officer proceeded in its absence. The officer found that the evidence raised a presumption of discrimination and that the company had not provided evidence to rebut it.
