The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Artur Czopek’s complaints of race discrimination, harassment and victimisation against Tjx Ireland Unlimited Company as not well-founded. The decision, dated 17 June 2025, made no award.

Czopek alleged that workplace gift collections favoured Irish employees, that he was removed from a WhatsApp collection group and that he faced adverse treatment after raising concerns. TJX denied the allegations, saying collections included employees of different nationalities and workplace policies were applied consistently.

The adjudication officer found the collections’ beneficiaries included people of different nationalities and that Czopek had not established facts supporting an inference of race discrimination or harassment. The officer also found his victimisation allegations unsupported, including because his concern about Sunday hours predated his complaint about the collections. A separate working-time complaint about rest between shifts was withdrawn at the hearing.
