The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has ordered Tesco Ireland Limited to pay Shane Doheny €500 after finding an unlawful deduction from his wages. The decision was dated 6 August 2025. Doheny said he moved roles after being assured his premium hours would continue, but his shifts later started later and his premium hours fell. Tesco relied on contractual roster flexibility and denied giving that assurance. The adjudicator accepted Doheny’s evidence that the established premium arrangement had been reduced without agreement. The complaint was upheld for the six months before it was filed.
