WRC rejects Philip Beattie’s unfair-dismissal complaint as out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Philip Beattie’s unfair-dismissal complaint because he filed it outside the six-month limit and did not establish reasonable cause for an extension. Adjudication Officer Dónal Moore’s decision was dated 12 August 2025. Beattie alleged that he was selected for redundancy after workplace disputes; The Brabazon Trust denied the claim and said the redundancy arose from restructuring. The WRC did not consider the merits of the unfair-dismissal allegation.
