The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Mohammed Moshiur Rahman’s discrimination complaint against Richie Moore on 25 June 2025, finding it was not well founded. Rahman alleged Moore changed his mind about re-letting a home after he raised Housing Assistance Payment (HAP); Moore said the property’s condition led him to withdraw the offer.
The adjudication officer found Rahman had not established a prima facie case of discrimination on the housing assistance ground. The officer said the evidence was inconsistent with Rahman’s belief that HAP was the reason, given Moore’s previous dealings with HAP, and concluded that the property’s condition explained the decision. The ruling also listed race as a ground in rejecting the complaint.
