WRC finds Stephen Fitzgerald’s dismissal by EQC was fair

The Workplace Relations Commission found Stephen Fitzgerald’s dismissal by Euro Quality Cladding Eqc (EQC) was fair and did not uphold his unfair dismissal complaint. The decision was dated 23 June 2025. EQC said it dismissed him after a delivery load was improperly secured, goods were damaged and a client complained; it also cited a speeding offence involving a company vehicle. Fitzgerald said the load shifted after an emergency stop, no damage was done and he offered to return it. The Adjudication Officer found the disciplinary process fair and the dismissal reasonable, particularly given an active warning.
