WRC declines to hear eight complaints against RTÉ over time limits

The Workplace Relations Commission had no jurisdiction to hear eight employment-rights complaints by Joseph Kelly against Raidio Teilifis Eireann (Rte), in a decision dated 1 August 2025. Kelly said his contractor classification had cost him employment entitlements and affected his pay and salary progression. RTE argued the complaints were outside the statutory time limit and said he had received entitlements for the relevant period. The WRC found the complaints related to alleged contraventions between 21 September 2012 and 12 November 2018, outside both the six-month limit and the possible extension period. It therefore did not consider their substance.
