The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Gaelachas Teoranta to pay Aodhán O'Ceallaigh €835 in Sunday-premium loss and €2,000 compensation, after finding that the boarding-services employer had not paid him a Sunday premium. The decision, dated 22 August 2025, also upheld complaints about annual leave, public holidays, daily rest and maximum weekly hours.
For the annual-leave complaint, the WRC directed payment of €2,157 for lost leave and €2,000 compensation. It ordered €360 for public-holiday loss and €2,000 compensation, plus €2,000 compensation each for breaches involving daily rest and maximum weekly hours. The source records no combined total.
O'Ceallaigh said he had raised pay and staffing concerns. Gaelachas Teoranta said it lacked records to address the claims and that some terms had been agreed with its former manager. The WRC found the employer had not shown compliance with several working-time requirements. It rejected complaints about breaks and night hours; it described the minimum-wage complaint as outside its jurisdiction and found two terms complaints out of time. Five other complaints were withdrawn.
