The Workplace Relations Commission found Louise Byrne’s complaints over time off in lieu and public holiday pay were not well-founded. Adjudication officer Roger McGrath’s decision was dated 24 October 2024. No award was recorded. Byrne said accumulated time off in lieu from her work at a hotel had not been given to her when she sought it after Fairkeep Ltd took over. The company said it paid overtime and any remaining balance in her final payslip. The officer found she was paid during the period the WRC could consider; earlier deductions were outside that period and there was no reasonable cause to extend it. Byrne also said she had not been compensated for public holidays when leaving. The officer found she was paid those entitlements during the relevant period and that her payslips identified the payments.
