The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Jubilina Dagogo-Jack’s complaints of race discrimination, harassment and victimisation against The Governors and Guardians of the Hospital for the Relief of Poor Lying-In Women, Dublin (Rotunda Hospital). The decision was dated 7 August 2025.

Dagogo-Jack said she was singled out and told to leave work to remove gel nail coverings, while other midwives with similar coverings were not sent home immediately. The hospital said its instruction followed its hand-hygiene policy and patient-safety concerns.

The adjudication officer found the nail coverings breached hospital policy and accepted the hospital’s safety explanation. The officer found no evidence linking the treatment to race and rejected all three complaints.
