The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Jayden & Preston Limited, trading as Parcel King, to pay Francis Foley compensation after finding that it failed to consult him before a collective redundancy and did not provide required information. The decision was dated 19 August 2024. The WRC also found that Foley was owed back-week wages and holiday pay, and had received no notice when the business closed at the end of September 2023. It ordered €2,300 for each collective redundancy breach, €1,038.02 net for the unpaid wages and holiday pay, and €1,150 in lieu of notice. Foley was entitled, subject to his PRSI contribution status, to a statutory redundancy payment based on a €600 weekly pay ceiling; its amount was left to be calculated. The WRC had no jurisdiction over one complaint and no provision to award redress for another.
