The Workplace Relations Commission found Aryson Rispoli Oliveira’s complaint against Tesco Ireland was not well founded in a decision dated 8 January 2025. He alleged the company failed to pay him for the first three of five days of sick leave. Tesco said its scheme offered eligible employees up to eight weeks’ full pay after three days’ absence and was more favourable overall. The adjudication officer found the benefit outweighed the unpaid first three days and the longer service requirement for eligibility.
