WRC rejects John O’Connor’s collective redundancy consultation complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found John O’Connor’s complaint against Kerry Creameries Ltd was not well-founded, deciding that seven milk tanker driver redundancies did not meet the statutory test for a collective redundancy. The decision was dated 1 September 2025. O’Connor alleged his representative was not properly consulted about the proposed redundancy. Kerry Creameries Ltd denied that the circumstances amounted to a collective redundancy. The WRC also recorded that O’Connor had withdrawn his unfair dismissal and victimisation complaints at the hearing. No award was made.
