WRC rules it cannot hear Garda discrimination complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Agnieszka Rozycka’s Equal Status complaint against the Commissioner of An Garda Siochana. The decision was dated 13 August 2024. The allegation that Gardaí discriminated against her was not decided on its merits. Rozycka alleged that, after she reported a cycling accident, Gardaí failed to provide information she sought about the other cyclist. The adjudication officer found that investigating the accident was a State function rather than a service available to the public under the Equal Status Act. No award was recorded.
