WRC disallows Isabella Breslin’s redundancy appeal

The Workplace Relations Commission disallowed Isabella Breslin’s appeal for statutory redundancy after finding that her employment transferred to the retailer that took over the business. Breslin said the former shop closed in January 2023 and she started work with a new employer. The WRC found she remained employed during her four-week notice period and that her employment transferred with the business, so she was not entitled to statutory redundancy from the former employer. The decision was dated 28 July 2023.
