The Workplace Relations Commission rejected James Flynn’s complaint that Garrett Advancing Motion failed to provide statutory sick pay for three days of illness in January 2023. The decision was dated 13 February 2024. Flynn said he should have received €110 per day. The WRC found the employer’s collective scheme was more favourable overall: it paid sick leave from the first day and allowed up to 26 weeks of paid leave in a rolling 12-month period. The complaint was found not well founded.
