The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Transmc Logistics Limited to pay Murat Kalac €1,240 in compensation for wages unlawfully withheld, after finding three complaints well founded. The decision was dated 19 June 2024.

Kalac said he worked 43 days as a part-time driver but was paid for only 34, and received no holiday pay or written information about his employment terms. The company did not attend the hearing despite being notified. The adjudication officer relied on time sheets in finding that nine days’ wages had been withheld.

The officer also ordered €450 in total compensation for the holiday-pay complaint, including payment for 2.67 days of annual leave, and €1,000 for the failure to provide written terms within five days of employment starting. Compensation for the wage complaint is subject to statutory deductions.
