The WRC ordered The Drain Crew The Maintenance Crew to pay David Williamson €4,550 net after finding his wages were reduced without his consent. The decision, dated 9 June 2023, also found a separate complaint about employment information not well founded.

Williamson said his agreed weekly net pay was €850 and that his wages were cut between weeks 9 and 22 of 2022, leaving a shortfall of €4,550. The company said its finances required a pay cut and that Williamson had agreed to it verbally.

The adjudicator did not accept the company's account of consent, finding the reduction was unilateral. The award is €4,550 net after taxes and statutory contributions. Williamson gave no evidence on his separate employment-information complaint, which was found not well founded.
