The Workplace Relations Commission ordered the Child And Family Agency Tusla to pay Rita O Neill €881.56 net for two weeks’ wages she had not received at the start of her employment. The decision was dated 11 May 2023. O Neill also challenged the recovery of a technical adjustment made during a payroll-system change. Tusla said the adjustment bridged the change and would be repaid at the end of employment. The WRC found she had received €1,111.78 and that the agreed repayment was deducted from her second-last payment, so that part of her complaint was not well founded. The WRC found no payment had been made for the first two weeks she worked. It calculated the wages due as €1,297.05 gross, or €881.56 net, and directed Tusla to pay the net amount. Gross is the amount before deductions; net is what remains after them.
