The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Elena Bondareva €5,545.74 for unpaid wages and holiday pay, and allowed her redundancy appeal. The decision, dated 10 July 2023, also found a separate employment-information complaint not well founded.
Bondareva worked as an administrator for Aviva Capital Leasing Limited from March 2014 until her employment ended in April 2022. She said she received no salary for March and April 2022 or payment for accrued holidays. The WRC found these were unlawful deductions and ordered compensation, subject to tax and statutory deductions.
The redundancy appeal succeeded, with a statutory lump sum directed on the basis of her employment dates and gross weekly pay of €576.92. Her unfair-dismissal complaint and two overlapping wage and working-time complaints were withdrawn. The respondent did not attend the hearing.
